"With
my horse I see a different world. And the world sees a different
me."
Mission Statement: The mission of the We Can Ride
4-H Club is to enhance the lives of the disabled youth in
Berrien County though educational activities related to horses.
We Can Ride 4-H Club was organized in 1979 to offer therapeutic/recreational
horseback riding lessons for the disabled. Our club was the first
4-H program in Michigan to win accreditation from the North American
Riding for the Handicapped Association, Inc.(NARHA).
Today, the program serves approximately 35 students during the
year ranging in age from five to thirty-plus years old. They come
to us from various special education and "mainstream"
programs.
UPDATE:
WE CAN RIDE WILL ONCE AGAIN BE LOCATED AT THE BUCHANAN WESTERNERS,
NOT THERAPEUTIC EQUESTRIAN CENTER!
